Sheikh Hasina is the most powerful women & the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She is the eldest daughter of Bangabandhu. Sheikh Hasina is the president of ruling political party of Bangladeh. Bangaldesh Awami League, since 1981 and positioned the party to fight against other any party in Bangladesh. At present her party Bangaldesh Awami League is on power for third terms for her astute political leadership.
Sheikh Hasina Early Life history:
Hasina was born on September 28, 1947, at Tungipara a village under Gopalganj district. The founding father and the first president of Bangladesh. Hasina’s mother Begum Fazilatunnesa was appreciated as a tender-hearted lady. Hasina took primary education in her home district Gopalganj and moved to Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1954 and began to live with her family member. Then, she admitted at Nari Shiksha Mandir Girls’ School at Dhaka. Sheikh Hasina completed S.S.C. from Ajimpur Girls’School in 1965. In 1973, she received graduation degree in Bangla department from University of Dhaka. It is the matter of shocked that all of her family members were martyred on Agust 15, 1975 with a military coup. Political Career Hasina:
Hasina began her political journey with the student politics. She was a member of the students League Unit of Dhaka University in her university . After that Hasina was elected as the chief of the Student’s Union of Eden Girls College. She participated in all the mass movements from her student life in Bangladesh.
Hasina went to the United Kingdom, and she on track her movement against the autocratic rule in 1980. Hasina ending six years in exile returned home on 17 May 1981 and the day is celebrated as Homecoming Day of Hasina in Bangla culture. Her party took part in the parliamentary election held in 1986 and she won three seats. Then, Hasina made an anti-Ershad movement with her party and forced Muhammad Ershad to step down from power. Hasina announced the constitutional formula or system for peaceful transfer of power althrough Articles 51 and 56 of the Constitution in 1990. She steered all the political parties in the parliament towards changing the Presidential system into the Parliamentary one system.
Sheikh Hasina created awareness among the people of Bangladesh for the need of Non-party Caretaker Government to ensure free and fair polls. Her mass movement was bound to Bangladesh Nationalist Party to launch Non-party Caretaker Government. Her party Awami League won the national election in 1996 and she became Prime Minister of Bangladesh for the first time. In the election of 2001, her party wipes out from competition for the president.
Personal Life:
Sheikh Hasina was married to a Bangladeshi prominent scientist Wazed Miah in 1968. Then, Sheikh Hasina continued her studies and graduated from the University of Dhaka. They have a son Sajeeb Wajed Jay and a daughter Saima. Her husband Wazed Miah died on May 09, 2009.
